Well by now you’ve all seen my 3 Aire-buddies – Jupie, Kermit & Robin – as we frolic in Mareike’s great backyard. Today was gonna be different.

Mom was excited. I had no idea why. I just sat in the back of the Bogie-mobile making sure that she made the correct turns to get us over to Mareike’s house. I do this on a regular basis because she takes me soooo many places, and whenever I see us heading in Mareike’s general direction I do my very best to make sure that she knows where I wanna go…

We arrived easily (no nose to the neck necessary) at Mareike’s house and I ran up the stairs. The Aire greeting was fun and overwhelming as always, but I noticed that Mareike’s dales had collars on – and they don’t usually wear collars. Hm, something was up. Then I noticed that their leashes were on the kitchen counter. Collars + leashes can mean only one thing…

Multi-dales!

We’re goin’ for a walk! A big, ol’ 4-Dale walk! Through Silverlake! Look out hipsters, here we come!!!

Lots of people stop in their tracks when they see multiple Dales and I can understand why – there aren’t that many of us around (despite our major presence in the doggie blogosphere) and it seems that a lot of people aren’t sure exactly what breed we actually are – so they ask silly questions.

Yes, people have asked us when we’re all together if we’re twins (uh, there are 4 of us), triplets, (uh, there are 4 of us) or if we’re related (well yes Mareike’s dogs are related but I’m the country cousin). Mostly they just scream and/or smile. Even in their cars, the jaded Angelinos cannot help but smile when 3 people with 4 Dales walk by. Mama was laughing the hardest, and having the most fun. She was walking Kermit and I, and was really impressed at how well we walked together, and Mareike had Robin and Jupie. Dad brought up the rear with the camera (somebody had to!).

Then it was time to jaunt back to Mareike’s backyard to check on the progress of the men with the big knives who were getting rid of what was left of that big tree…

Multi-dales!

We all did our very best to help…

Multi-dales!

But in the end it’s just about being c-u-t-e…

Bogart
