Today was my first big day out here in Portland – walking around the city, that is, not just patrolling my yard or walking in the forest. Mama wanted to go somewhere that would be walking-friendly, so we hit the Hawthorne district for some midday shenanigans.
First we had lunch at the Hawthorne Fish House – Home of Portland’s Best Fish & Chips. And boy was it ever! Both mom (Gardenburger) and dad (fish and chips) said that it was one of the BEST meals they’ve ever had, and the fries were particularly delish!!! I got to get a little sample and can attest to the yumminess.
Then we walked around for some Airedmiration, popped our heads into some stores, and in general just had a good time. I like this town a LOT so far – not nearly as hot and dry as Los Angeles, lots of rain and lots of GRASS!!!!

Bogie – if you’re in SE and it’s warm, you have to go to the Lucky Lab!! It’s on Hawthorne, around 15th and dogs get to sit out back under the covered patio with their owners. Mom says the beer’s good and enjoying it with your dog is the best! Hedge House at 34th & Division is fun too.
Ummmmm…. of course I meant peeps, not “owners”!
